These are programs which combine secondary and post-secondary courses in a range of applied technology and trade areas. Students have the opportunity to simultaneously earn credits towards both secondary school graduation and a post-secondary credential. In order to receive this "dual credit," students must meet the 70% pass standards of the post-secondary institution, as well as completing the requirements for high school graduation.
ACE-IT (Accelerated Credit Enrolment in Industry Training) Programs These programs are designed for students who wish to earn credits towards both graduation and Level 1 Apprenticeship Technical Training credentialed by the Industry Training Authority of British Columbia. They are open to secondary school students (Grades 11 or 12) from any secondary school in District #83. Students enrolled in these programs will also be registered as trainees with the Industry Training Authority (ITA).
Application Process When considering one of these post-secondary program options, students should be aware that rigorous entrance standards are applied. The requirements usually include above average academic marks, as well as a strong interest/aptitude in the area that is applied for. In addition, students may need to take certain entrance tests as determined by the post-secondary institution that is involved. CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD A DUAL
